Luigi Guidolin (Uncle Louie) on the running board of his 1928 Dodge. This photo was taken in 1943, in front of the house my grandfather, Primo Martinello, built on the south side of Gillard Street. A house that stands – mostly unchanged, except for the siding – to this day. Photo provided by Jean and Joe Boccia.

This story was going to be called “Lines and Shadows (Part 3) – Two Houses.” That all changed when I discovered that Luigi Guidolin was my father’s confirmation sponsor when my father was confirmed on May 24, 1937 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg, as I described in my last story called “Lines and Shadows (Part 2) – Two Dollars.”
