Lindsey Angler embraces her role and community
Transparency is a priority for the first female prosecutor in county history

There is a spot in the Guernsey County Courthouse that gives Lindsey Angler cause to reflect after being elected the first woman prosecutor in the county’s long history. Today, the spot is actually a doorway that leads to a restroom.
But in the early 1880s when the current courthouse was built on Wheeling Avenue in downtown Cambridge, that doorway led to a women’s waiting room.
At the time, women couldn’t vote so builders believed — according to a history lesson given to Angler by former Judge David A. Ellwood — that women only visited the courthouse to testify during a trial.
