County councillors have unanimously rejected plans for their allowance increase for 2021 in a council meeting today (Friday, December 11).
Leader of Lincolnshire County Council, Coun Martin Hill (Con) proposed that âallowances stay the same this year as they were last year, so the effect of that is no rise at all which I think is only the right and proper thing to do in these circumstances.â

As council leader, Coun Martin Hillâs allowance would have increased from £35,026.42 to £35,989.64 next year, a difference of £963.22, but he rejected it.
