Lincoln County police chase ends in crash, leaves driver dead

One person dead after police chase in Lincoln County ends in crash
Two Lincoln County squad cars were trying to stop a vehicle that someone reported stolen when the vehicle crashed, according to a news release.

MERRILL – One person is dead after a crash that occurred after law enforcement pursued a vehicle in Lincoln County, according to officials. 
At 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, two Lincoln County Sheriff's Office squad cars began trying to stop a vehicle someone reported stolen, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
The chase was going west on a town road in rural Lincoln County when the vehicle deputies were pursuing left the road and crashed, according to the news release. The Lincoln County Coroner's Office pronounced the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, dead at the scene.
