Geoff Fellows and partner Michael Potts with the new defibrillator
In a normal world, celebrating a landmark birthday often involves parties, holidays or drinks with friends but one Penketh resident marked the big 4 0 with the purchase of life saving medical equipment.
Geoff Fellows climbed Mount Snowdon for his special birthday, raising funds for a defibrillator machine in Penketh, and he donated all his birthday money to the cause.
Now, thanks to help from AED Donate and Tesco Bags of Help, a new defibrillator has been installed outside The Manna House on Warrington Road, meaning someone suffering from a cardiac arrest would be able to receive treatment in an emergency.
