As parents head to sporting fields around the country to watch their children participating in sport,
perhaps AFL, rugby league or athletics, they may notice that despite goals or tries being scored, no one is keeping score.
Perhaps it is a 100-metre dash with no winner announced, with ribbons awarded for those who
made the effort to participate. Such events have created much discussion amongst the community, with some declaring it an attempt to introduce socialist thinking, whilst others applaud the shift from the “winning is all that matters” mentality.
