TALLINN – Lidl Eesti, the operation of German low-cost retailer Lidl in Estonia, has warned that bogus messages seeking personal information, to which the company has no connection, are being circulated on the WhatsApp messaging app.
The messages that contain Lidl's name and symbols say that various prizes are available to those taking part in a prize campaign on the occasion of the company's 50th anniversary. After clicking on a link, the participant is requested to enter their personal and banking information.
Lidl Eesti informed that they are not organizing any such prize draw or campaign and that the messages represent a fraudulent scheme. Lidl asks everyone who has received such message to ignore it and not to share it, not to press the link or share their personal information.
