BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Liberty Corner Fire Company coordinated Monday morning's return of Bernards Township's Memorial Day ceremony by combining an in-person gathering by the Liberty Corner green and a livestream on the fire company's website that was still available for viewing afterward.
The township's usual full-fledged Memorial Day parade was still put on hold for 2021 because of lingering concerns about COVID-19. Nevetheless, a few dozen people gathered on an overcast Monday morning to pause on the holiday weekend to "honor those who have given their lives in defense of our nation," as Mayor Janice Fields said to both live and online attendees.
