Amy Smith of Lewiston Rowing steers a boat Tuesday morning up the Androscoggin River after positioning a marker just above the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge between Auburn and Lewiston. Smith and others were setting a course for Saturday morning’s first Riverfest Regatta. Rowboats with all skill levels aboard will gather at 7 a.m. at Simard-Payne Memorial Park by the river’s edge.

The first Lewiston-Auburn Riverfest will take place Friday through Sunday.
The festival will include a regatta Saturday morning, a river race Sunday morning, and a riverside festival with a beer garden, food trucks, entertainment and more on both afternoons. The schedule is:
