Why does the VA turn away veterans seeking the vaccine over income?
I am a 90-year-old Korean-wartime veteran, and additionally I was in the Naval Reserve for 20 years. I have never appealed or requested any services from the Veterans Administration. I have many members of my immediate family who served, including a grandson in the Marines, my brother and father-in-law who served in WWII, none of these family members ever received VA benefits.
I recently went to the West Palm VA Hospital for a COVID-19 vaccine but was turned away and told my income was excessive (Social Security and retirement) and I would not be able to get the vaccine. I watched as family members wheeled in WWII vets who were turned away.
