Prior to this vote, city council received a petition supporting a name change with 14,000 signatures, a mere .005 per cent of the Toronto population.
In London, if city council feels this issue needs to be pursued, please present it as a referendum during the next municipal election.
This question is far too big for council.
Let 100 per cent of Londoners decide this question.
Londoners have shown, in the past, that they can study important issues and arrive at the right conclusion.
