Letter to the Editor: Vote Curtis Hunt for respect, accountability
I first encountered Curtis Hunt five years ago when I moved to Vacaville and attended City Council meetings to acclimate myself to my new hometown. Not knowing anything about him or any other council member, Mr. Hunt’s respect for humanity stood out. His deliberations and decisions were fair and thoughtful, and demonstrated to me that he was not only aware, but determined to be responsive to the impact local government has on the day-to-day quality of life of all Vacaville residents.
At these meetings, I witnessed Mr. Hunt express thorough knowledge of the issues at hand. The results of his intense scrutiny of the problems were honest solution suggestions that reflected consideration for the needs of all. He never juxtaposed his sense of duty toward residents against his stewardship for the fiscal and cultural well-being of the city. But always looked for the solutions that would serve the community best, weighing the consequences of the short- and long-term effect on the growth and development of Vacaville as well as its residents.
