Letter to the Editor: Vacaville has trustworthy City Council
In the midst of mud-slinging at the new Vacaville City Council, let’s take a look at the new council members themselves and what they plan to do.
Jeanette Wylie spent decades teaching students in Vacaville. She also is a leader in her church, and a leader in her teacher’s union. She will be an asset on the City Council. Her priorities are to operate government in a transparent manner, neighborhood parks, affordable housing, transportation routes to accommodate our growth and great schools.
Mike Silva has also spent his career helping others. He is a professor of biotechnology, served two years on the Vacaville School Board and was the president of the Solano County School Boards Association. He will lead efforts to create opportunities for good careers by supporting local businesses and economic development efforts, as well as support affordable housing and better schools, reinvest in youth and senior programs, and support public safety.
