Due to the recent decision by ABB to close its production facility in West Burlington, Iowa, I feel prompted to write you and the board of directors and let you know how disappointed we as a community feel about the closing of the plant and the almost 300 positions that will be lost.
The former G.E. facility that was purchased by ABB has been part of our community since the early 1960's and has provided excellent employment opportunities to our residents throughout those years.
The workforce has always exceeded in producing the most highest of quality products for G.E. and have continued to do this since it became ABB.
