Author and academic Lesley Lokko has been named winner of the Ada Louise Huxtable Prize 2021, part of the AJ/AR’s W Awards
Lokko, 57, is currently setting up the African Futures Institute, an independent postgraduate school of architecture in Accra, Ghana – the city where she lived until she was 17.

The Scottish-Ghanaian professor founded the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2015, which she ran for four years before becoming the dean of architecture at the Spitzer School of Architecture in New York.
