Leprechaun Bundock always made the right call to improve P.G. life

St. Patrick's Day was always a highlight for leprechaun Mike Bundock, centre, and for more than 25 years he would come around with his pot of gold candy to bring cheer to schools, hospitals, pubs and city businesses. Bundock died at age 88 on Jan. 26.

In 1972, after escaping a head-on accident on the Peden Hill section of Highway 16, Mike Bundock started a petition to convince city council and the province of the need to widen the two-lane road to four lanes and it finally happened in 1975.

If Mike Bundock could have picked any other country than Canada as his birthplace, it would have been Ireland.
