IF Jim Quinn or Bob and Jo Mansell ever feel a bit tired on their walking challenge, they just think of the person who has inspired them to give them the motivation to march on.
The trio are trudging out 10,000 steps a say – five miles – throughout Lent to raise money for water projects in some of the poorest parts of the world.
Jim from Webheath, and Bob and Jo, from Studley, were inspired by the story of Abdella, a young Ethiopian who walks 10 HOURS every day over rugged terrain to collect water for his family.
The trio are members of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Redditch and are taking part in the Walk for Water appeal organised by Catholic aid agency CAFOD.
