The Wetaskiwin Royal Canadian Legion Br. No. 86 closed its doors Saturday, in keeping with Provincial Government restrictions around COVID-19.
On Dec. 9, the Provincial Government announced stricter measures in an effort to lower the number of COVID-19 cases in the province.

These measures include the closure of Legions, and Wetaskiwin’s Legion president Ken Schubert said this is going to be hard on branches, veterans and members.
“We’re going to do everything we can. EVERYTHING to keep going,” he said. “But the reality is there’s only so much we can do with no funds coming in.”
