Limetree Bay Oil Refinery, Trump-era EPA Challenged for Lax Pollution Standards

U.S. Virgin Islands— Community and conservation groups filed a legal appeal today challenging the federal permit for the controversial Limetree Bay refinery on the Caribbean island of St. Croix that started operating this week. The long-shuttered, pollution-plagued Limetree refinery has been one of the world’s biggest oil-processing facilities.
