Lee County school leaders react to patient on school grounds
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee County school district leader said they met for a safety assessment after students saw a half-naked man on campus at Fort Myers High School.
The school went into lockdown immediately on Thursday. The principal at Fort Myers High School, Dr. Robert Butz, confirmed the man was a patient at Lee Memorial Hospital.
The man went past security and briefly into the high school. Principal Butz said the man was only inside for two minutes.
The man was baker acted by Fort Myers police officers in a neighborhood near the high school and is currently in Lee Memorial Hospital receiving mental health help.
