She may have seemingly burst onto the scene, but Liyah (whose real name is Alliyah Cici Adejoke Fareo) has been growing and grinding as an artist for years behind the scenes, with things first starting to crystalise in a classic DIY environment.
“I was a bit of a dork, so I would literally write to myself and have conversations,” she told us in a full chat that you can squiz above. “I had my first crack making a song when I was in college and in terms of singing one myself, it would’ve been three years ago.”
