CLEVELAND – Saturday's match-up between Utah lacrosse and Cleveland State showed great promise for what's to come between the two future ASUN opponents as Utah held on for the 11-9 road victory thanks to a late 3-0 run and 15 saves from keeper Zion Dechesere inside the Krenzler Bubble.

Ryan Rogers broke the seal to open scoring for both teams after lunging towards the crease and snuck one past the Cleveland State keeper at the 11:26 mark. The Vikings answered right back to tie things up at the 10:15 mark and from that point on neither team scored despite CSU continually attacking the Utah defense. Utah's offense finally broke through after Sammy Cambere connected with Josh Rose for a huge strike down field. Utah (4-6) extended the lead to 3-1 with 30 ticks left in the first quarter when Tyler Bradbury found Jonathan Rose on the far side of the field.
