A bail hearing is in the works for the Sarnia man charged with first-degree murder after a mother of two young daughters died last week.
Joseph DiCarlo, 45, was represented Wednesday in a Sarnia courtroom by Patrick Ducharme. The Windsor-based criminal defence lawyer asked justice of the peace Kelly Jackson for a one-week adjournment as he’s working on a bail plan.

“(DiCarlo) has to apply for bail in the Superior Court (of Justice) because of the nature of the charge, and we’re in the process of filing those documents in order to do that,” Ducharme said in the phone line- and video-based courtroom, “so we need a week from now.”
