Lawsuit filed over Utah's medical cannabis cultivation licenses

SALT LAKE CITY â A lawsuit has been filed over Utah's medical cannabis cultivation system by a company that was rejected for a license.
JLPR Inc. filed the lawsuit over the weekend against Utah's Department of Agriculture and Food, including former agency officials involved in the medical cannabis program, state purchasing officials and even rival companies.
"The corruption and other problems in the selection and agency appeal process were a gross violation of JLPRâs due process and equal protection rights," the lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court, states.
