The Alabama House of Representatives has passed a bill that would make it illegal to vote in Alabama and vote in another state in the same election.
Rep. Chris Blackshear, a Republican whose district includes Lee and Russell counties in east Alabama, said state law already prohibits voting twice in Alabama in the same election. But he said there’s nothing in state law that can be used to prosecute someone who voted in Alabama and another state in the same election.
