The Salina Law Enforcement Citizen Review Board will be officially established this week after final approval by the city commission on Monday.
At its Monday evening meeting, the Salina City Commission voted to approve, on second reading, an ordinance to establish the Citizen Review Board.
The board will consist of nine members appointed by the mayor with consent of the city commission, seven of which are citizens interested or experienced in police and/or community relations, a member fo the city's human relations commission and a current officer or sergeant of the Salina Police Department with at least three years of experience with SPD.
