Monday was a momentous and long-awaited day for much of the country as more restrictions were lifted.
No doubt there was disappointment in Moray and Glasgow but hopefully they won’t be too far behind.
When I spoke to people around me about the latest rule changes it was clear one in particular meant a great deal – an end to the hugging ban.
I’m not surprised, as humans are a tactile bunch and there are reasons this simple gesture means so much.
It’s apt to see hugging being permitted hot on the heels of Mental Health Awareness Week as a hug can have immense emotional benefits, helping us bond, and making us feel less stressed and anxious.
