Transmission of coronavirus is decreasing at a steady pace across the North West as well as England as a whole.
The latest estimates from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) released today (April 16) predict that the reproduction number - commonly referred to as the 'R number' - for the North West is somewhere between 0.6 and 0.9.
