LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- The Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education will meet late Tuesday afternoon to discuss extending the 2021-2022 school year to avoid losing millions of dollars.
"There is going to be an understandable gap in learning that’s related to the shuttering of schools," said Kelly Jameson, a spokeswoman for the district.
Jameson said there are two options:
Option A: Begin school a week early (on Aug. 5) and add a half-hour to the day for elementary schools.
