It was a bad start to the week for residents in the greater Suva-Nasinu area as they woke up to dry taps yesterday.
Timaima Sokia of Naveiwakau, Nasinu, said she had to fetch water from a relative’s house in Laqere for her household needs.
Water Authority of Fiji chief operating officer Seru Soderberg said the cause of water supply disruptions was a massive landslide at the inlet to the Wainibuku Reservoir last Sunday.
He said it dislocated the 600mm and 450mm pipelines “causing significant damage and will take some time to safely repair”.
