Two of the UK’s best-loved authors, including former Cumbria dweller Beatrix Potter, were the centre of a TV special set in the Lakes on Sky One on Christmas Eve.
Roald and Beatrix: The Tale of the Curious Mouse was inspired by the true story surrounding the meeting of Beatrix Potter and a six-year-old Roald Dahl in 1920.
The one-off special followed Roald’s quest to meet Potter and is set close to the small village of Near Sawrey on the western side of Windermere.
Starring Harry Tayler as Roald Dahl and Dawn French as Beatrix Potter, the drama is described by producers as “a magical story of what can happen when you are brave enough to follow your dreams.”
