LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raider’s basketball team is risking its winning streak in two games this weekend as it travels to Fort Worth, Texas to conclude the season series with TCU. It is also Texas’ first time Tech has won two consecutive Big 12 games, one or both of which have been on the road since 2015. – In her three career games against TCU, Lady Raider Lexi Gordon has put together a handful of strong performances. The oldest – a Fort Worth resident whose parents both attended basketball and played for the TCU – scores an average of 23.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in her career against the Horned Frogs. Heading into Lady Raiders’ game against West Virginia, junior Najé Murray shot 35.1 percent from the three-point distance for the season. In the last three games, she had warmed up, 6-of-11 (.545) from behind the arc and averaging 14 points per game. – In the past three games, Texas Tech has seen a number of different Lady Raiders stand up when it comes to scoring the ball with four players scoring double digits on that trajectory in every game. Vivian Gray, Lexi Gordon, Najé Murray, Maka Jackson and Alexis Tucker have each included double-digit performances in one or more of their last three performances. THE SERIES – The Lady Raiders and the Horned Frogs will meet for the 58th time in the history of the two programs when they collide on Saturday afternoon. – Tech has outperformed the TCU in the series so far, winning 45 of the previous 57 games. – The two teams have split the last 10 games, but the Lady Raiders have won the last three games. – Texas Tech fell with a whopping 16 in the first quarter of the last game against TCU, but came back to take the 78-72 win. – The Lady Raiders have been historically successful against TCU in Fort Worth, 17-6 all-time against the Horned Frogs in Cowtown. LAST TIME OUT OF The Texas Tech Lady Raider’s basketball team took its second straight win and first road win of the season on Wednesday-evening, beating Kansas, 75-65, at Allen Fieldhouse. It is the program’s first Big 12 win streak since 2017. The Lady Raiders used a balanced offensive attack to repel the Jayhawks, with six players scoring five or more points and four in double digits. Sophomore Alexis Tucker finished a point of her season high with 17 points to go with five rebounds and two steals. Lexi Gordon scored 15 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, as well as four rebounds, an assist and a bargain. Vivian Gray finished one rebound shorter than her second straight double-doubles and fifth of the year with 14 points and nine rebounds and a pair of assists. Naje Murray beat her second game in a row in double figures and also posted four assists.
