A preference deal with the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party will likely help the minor party more than WA Labor, a leading political academic says.
University of Notre Dame political analyst Martin Drum said the deal had similarities to an agreement the Colin Barnett-led Liberals struck with One Nation ahead of the 2017 state election, which had no benefit for the Liberals but ended up helping One Nation secure three seats in the upper house.
