La Ronge Legion gets federal aid to help it operate through the pandemic
The La Ronge Legion has received much needed federal dollars to help it keep operating.
Gathering restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic essentially dried up the major income driver, that being hall rentals.
“Our local branch relies solely from renting out our hall. We don’t make any other money to operate other than renting out our hall,” said Branch President Shaune Lapworth.
In November, the La Ronge Branch applied for a pocket of funds dedicated to Veterans organizations, to help them get through the pandemic.
Lapworth said the Branch received just over $9000 to help cover operating expenses already incurred during the restrictions.
