In the past four years, Kaden Ramirez has gone from barbecue amateur, to smoke master, and now to young restaurant entrepreneur.
The 20-year-old La Junta native is opening his own food truck, Bubz BBQ, this week with the support of his family and the town’s barbecue lovers.
Kaden began working with his uncle, Ukiah, at the Dickeys Barbecue Pit in La Junta when he was 16 years old.
When Ukiah established his own barbecue joint, Fire & Ice BBQ, in June 2020, Kaden started working under him and “fell in love with the barbecue process.”
There, he honed his skill, mixing one-of-a-kind seasonings, perfecting the restaurant's proprietary sauces and refining his 12-hour smoke process.
