Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana's leading human resource consultancy, L'aine Services Limited, has demanded a bridge in the gap between what is taught in school and skills development to strengthen the workforce in Ghana.
The Human Resource Practitioner, charged academia and other stakeholders to do more to prepare graduates for the corporate world.
In an interview with host Rev. Erskine on the Y Leaderboard Series, she explained: “I always say that the university of education is only a springboard to career development and to the world of work. Bridging the gap between skills and knowledge is work in progress. But academia and the industry still have to work together in bridging the skills and behavior gaps with our young graduates. Work is always changing. Even though there is a lot of progress, we should also understand that we require a lot of constant upscaling”.
