A developing story now, out of northeast philadelphia. A fire tears through a two story house in frank forwards sending one person to the hospital. Eyewitness News Reporter anita oh, live at the scene with the very latest, anita, good morning. Good morning, jan, police are now saying that this fire does appear to be suspicious. You can see the damage behind me, the cards remains, and also, people working inside sifting through the rubble, uber driver who just happened to be driving by, at the time of the fire, took this cell phone video of flames bursting out of this two story home. The man yells, asked if anyone is inside, this is on the 1300 block of rhawn street. Firefighters returned here just after 11 30 p. M. Last night, were able to get the flames under control 20 minute later. We do know paramedics returned one person to state clint toys err hospital. Homeowners who were here just short time ago tell me that that person is their 17 year old son, but they add that hes doing okay, hes expected to recover. His injuries are minor. Again, at this hour, police are saying that they do believe this fire is suspicious. A fire has damaged a row home on the 1800 block of north 24th street. Firefighters there rushed to the two story house right around 4 15 this morning. They had those flames under control in just about 45 minutes. Fortunately, there are no reports of any injuries there. New this morning, a three car collision in bucks county has injured two people. This call came in around 1 30 a. M. This morning to crash on route one pine street in middletown township. There is no word on just how serious those injuries are this morning. The cause of this crash is under investigation. And an investigation is underway into the death of doctor James Kauffman. The south jersey man charged with arranging his wifes murder was found dead in his jail cell friday morning. As eyewitness News Reporter alexandria hoff tells us, kauffmans death appears to be sue side. Although this has been deemed apparent suicide, the Atlantic County prosecutors offers says their investigation into it will continue. Thursday, january 18th, James Kauffman, charged with orchestrating the 2012 murder every his wife, face Atlantic County judge. Kauffman, alleged coconspirator, fer fanned aug ello ordered to detained until trial, the last time kauffman would appear publicly friday morning the Atlantic County Prosecutors Officer stated kauffman was found dead in his Hudson County jail cell sources cents tell Eyewitness News, that the apparent suicide was carried out using a bed sheet. Kauffman and augello had been jailed since june under charges every racketeering. This Police Body Camera footage take never june shows the standoff between officers and kauffman, as they attempt topped execute a search warrant at his medical office. He was ultimately taken into custody, earlier this month recalling charged with organizing the murder of beloved radio personality april kauffman. Who was found shot to death inside after lynnewood home that the couple shared. The Prosecutors Office said that the 2012 killing was attemptment by kauffman to silence his wifes knowledge every illegal drug operation that he and augello were running out of kauffmans medical practice. Murder for hire plot did not end there. At a separate hearing this month, kauffmans attorney state that augello had planned to have kauffman killed too. That for, his client was moved to a separate prison. And is that because of the plot to kill him, yes. Kauffmans attorney had said that his client maintained his innocence, sources tell Eyewitness News , that kauffman left behind a sixpage note. One person was returned to the hospital. Eyewitness News Reporter anita oh, live at the scene, in frankford, to bring us to up date. Anita, good morning. Reporter good morning, jan , we just learned from police that investigators now believe the fire is suspicious , see behind me the damage still at this home all of this rubble and the charred remains of this two story home , on the 1300 block of rhawn street. Now you can see in the cell phone video taken by an uber driver who just happened to be in the area at the time. You can see, flames bursting, out of this home, as you mentioned, there is one person taken to the hospital, that person 17 year old who is living inside of this home. We saw the homeowners here, also kind of sifting through the rubble to see what remains , gwen, at this hour, they believe the fire is suspicious, flames errupted here around 1130 last night, firefighters luckily able to get the fire contained and under control. About 20 minute later limited information about the cause, but they believe the fire is suspicious, 17 year old taken to st. Sources say, kauffman used a strip of bed sheets to hang himself and left six page suicide note. Now, earlier this month, kauffman was charged with hiring a hitman to kill his wife, april kauffman, a radio talk show host. And an intruder shot her to death in the couple lynnewood home back in 2012. A close call for a Police Officer in Atlantic County caught on camera and now police are release that video so youll think twice when you see Law Enforcement officers on the side of the road. Take a look at this. On january 19th, an officer in Hamilton Township narrowly escaped disaster while when another car swiped, sideswiped, his police cruiser. Police want to remind drivers about the moveover law now. It calls on drivers to change lanes, if possible, or proceed slowly and with caution passing an emergency vehicle, and always be ready to stop. Now learning more about what caused Carbon Monoxide leak that sickens students and staff. This all happened yesterday at william yam Letter School in somerton.
