Dr. Ronny jackson said president trump, now 71, the oldest man ever elected president , is in excellent health, body and mind. But he did say mr. Trump needs to lose some weight and lower his cholesterol. He is prescribing a better diet and exercise. More now from White House Correspondent margaret brennan. Reporter in a nearly hourlong briefing, white house doctor Ronny Jackson explained that the president ordered him to answer every single question about his health and mental acute. Hes fit for duty. I think he will remain fit for duty for the remainder of this term and even the remainder of another term, if hes elected. Reporter in recent weeks, critics have questioned mr. Trumps mental fitness. Dr. Jackson said the president requested a cognitive assessment, designed to detect dementia or alzheimers. He has absolutely no, you know, cognitive or mental whooshz soever, that he is very sharp. I had given president some medication, specifically, sudafed, over the days previous, and i think i had inadvertently dried up his secrezs. Jackson said overall his cardiac exam was clear and his cholesterol can be managed by increasing the dosage of the daily medication crestor and lowering the amount of fat and carbohydrates will in his diet. I think a reasonable goal is lose 1015 pounds. He talked about diet and exercise a lot. He is more enthusiastic about the diet part than the exercise part but we doll both.
