Feeling the chill, not everyone is upset bit, some people are enjoying the frigid temperatures, so many others are, battering the bitter cold , as best they can. We are tracking another round of winter weather. Good evening, im jessica dean im Nicole Brewer in for ukee washington. We have felt freeze get ready for snow. Meteorologist lauren casey in the Weather Center a lot to talk about as we head in the holiday weekend. A lot going on. We know temperatures are definitely cold enough to support snow, temperatures in fill after been sub freezing for more than 72 hours, right now, and at times, well below freezing like at present, to 22 degrees in philadelphia 16 in allentown. We are at five in mount pocono we have a breeze kick nothing. Our feels like temperature 7b low in the poconos, 57 above in allentown, feeling like 12 in philadelphia and feeling like 9 degrees right now in trenton. We will keep around this cold, arctic, frigid air, as we head into our new years holiday as well, heading out to enjoy fire works you will need to be seriously bundled up, fighting cold, 6 00 p. M. , 19 degrees around midnight, 13 with this northwesterly wind up around 10 to 15. It will feel like zero. Potentially down to five below when we ring in 2018. All quiet as we look live at Center City Philadelphia we have 22 degrees reading north westerly winds at nine feeling more like 12 and we will add some snow in 12 hours we could see flakes flying with this clipper system. Up wind moving through parts of the lower midwest and will arrive as we head into our saturday. Travel conditions for tonight, looking good, we will stay dry , very cold but then steady , light snow for good chunk of our daytime hours tomorrow and then looking good once again as we head into sunday but we could still see slick spots because none of that snow will melt anytime soon, so what to expect . Clipper systems are known for being fast moving systems, they dont have a whole lot of moisture but we will get a quick hit on accumulating snow , steady snow developing i think for most across the Delaware Valley by 8 00 oclock this is morning. Steady snow starting to wrap up around one or 2 00 in the afternoon but we could see lingering snow showers into the evening hours as well and that will contribute to some poor driving conditions, of course work these cold, cold temperatures. We will talk more about the snowfall, how much will accumulate and potentially are coldest or second coldest new years day on record, ever. We will have all of the fun details in a few, jessica a lot of record setting, thanks very much. Penndot crews spent the day brining road ahead of the tomorrows snow. We sent Vittoria Woodill to give us a look at this yuletide tradition, tori. That is right, if there was one place to say farewell to holiday fest, we are truly at the place that is doing it, big, to say farewell. This is a 18foot, christmas tree, completely decorated, in dried flowers this is only one of the special rooms where the conservatory now, but one of the one, one of the many special rooms that is decked out in style and style that is truly, all american, lets take a look. Celebrate the traditions of holiday past at winterthur the magnificent estate of Henry Frances du pont. It is he or oversaw the rise to become one of the Great American Country Estates of the early 20th century. Reporter almost 60 years ago it was he, who opened up his childhood home of 175 rooms to the public to showcase more than 90,000 pieces of carefully cure rated americana and it all started with this dresser. It just captured his imagination, he felt this is what he should be collecting as an american, he should collect american furniture. Reporter notice as you tour each room during yuletide season that each one set for holidays telling stories of how christmas was celebrated in certain time period in america. But look closely and youll note that is place settings hold a special set in mr. Du ponts heart. He even acquired a very special, set that was used by george washington. Mr. Du pont collected thousands of upon thousands of dishes. He had about 50 sets that he actually used. He kept lists, for over 50 years of every meal that was served at this table. Reporter he has a set of tankards made by paul reveer. Right through can see the mark of paul reveer. Reporter with so much to see, in this coming new year and every year, mr. Du pont has always hoped his home would accomplish one thing. He said he hoped people coming to winterthur to see what he has done would be inspired to collect and to learn about their pennsylvania and take away something that they are willing to explore and do on their own. Reporter it is very hard not to be, inspired, here. Now you only have until january 7th to take in all of the yuletide charm, but they are opened all year round and it is definitely a spot to see , that for me, jessica and nicole, it made me feel filled with pride, there is a lot of history here and way that they have everything displayed is with a purpose, it is truly unique and gorgeous.
