This really is a tragedy that unfolded here in south philadelphia this morning, just days before christmas, around 6 30 this morning, were told by accident investigation division, 83 year old woman crossing the street here at 24th street and washington, if you are familiar with this area, this is just north of point breeze, told by investigators she was wearing all black, she was crossing with the light at the time. But she may not have been across the street before the light turned green. Thats when she was struck by not one, but two different vehicles, told the first vehicle that struck her, a white car was driven by a man, that person pulled over, but not before a second vehicle hit her. A black car driven by another man. That will car also pulled over as well. Both of those drivers were told by investigators, are cooperating with police. Right now, though, it is unclear exactly the circumstances surrounding this , were told by eyewitnesses she was struck in the middle of the intersection , like i mentioned the working theory right now is that me may not have crossed the intersection in time. Neighbors who live here in the area say this intersection, 24th street and washington, is a very dangerous one to cross. Take a listen. It is very like panicy to cross this way, because sometimes they dont stop. You know, even though it be on the yellow light, like the light, zoom, you know, past. So a lot of concern from those who cross this intersection on regular basis. But once again, both of those drivers are cooperating with police, no charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing, a tragedy, though, this morning, 6 30 a. M. Very sad indeed, greg, thank you. This noon, middletown Delaware School district notified parents every possible sexual assaults involving students at reading middle school. The letter of the schools went out yesterday afternoon, according to the letter, Delaware State Police are investigating but few details about the investigation have been made public. The letter reads in part nothing is more important to us than the safety of all student and staff. We will continue to cooperate fully, as the investigation unfolds.
