An electrical fire brought the Busiest Airport to a standstill mostly yesterday. Most of the flights were grounded and thousands were stranded. Flights have already been canceled today. The airport Just Announced a few hours ago that the lights are back on on all concourses and thousands of meals are being delivering to affected passengers. Full power has been restored to the worlds Busiest Airport more than ten hours after a power outage early sunday afternoon brought Hartsfieldjackson Atlanta International Airport to a standstill. They believe it was sparked by a switch gear that failed, grounding more than 1,000 flights in atlanta. That fire caused multiple faults in our system and they affected multiple sources in our airport. Reporter Officials Say it cut off primary and backup power. While people inside were stuck in limbo, passengers on planes were stuck on the runways, some for several hours. We left san diego at 4 00 a. We sat on the tarmac for six hours. I had my 5monthold old with me. Reporter some predict it could take a few days before travel returns to normal in atlanta. And atlanta is deltas biggest hub. While it was said firing him would be mistake he is concerned over the dismissal of two others. I think it jeopardizes the integrity of his investigation. In california the massive thomas fire burning northwest of los angeles is 45 contained. Even though winds diminished somewhat, it is still a very dangerous fire. The fire is now one of the largest in state history and new evacuations were ordered in santa barbara. The fire did what predicted. Air force academy is pledging to change the way it responds to Sexual Assault at its school. Last week a cbs news investigation looked into how it handles assault cases. Reporter Lieutenant General jay silverio says the academy will restructure and expand its Sexual Assault plan with Better Qualified staff and greater prevention.
