Parishioners buy and sell homemade goods in the church basement. Its a very joyous occasion. People are eating and drinking and buying and having a good time. Released this video of the man they say stole from the church in hopes you can help identify him. The good part of it was that nobody was attacked or hurt. Reporter father Michael Doyle who has been at the church for more than 40 years was doing a special mass to bless expectant mothers at the time of the theft. He says1e the money from t fundraiser would have helped next week when they give out a thousand food baskets to families in south camden. He says the loss wont stop their efforts and if they need more money, he says god will use his people to provide. My grandfather. Now yesterdays snow meantime has all but melted by now and the slush is turning back to ice but those slick conditions arent going to last very long. Theres a warmup on the way for us. Meteorologist lauren casey is live in the Weather Center with a look at whats coming up for us. Well get a break from the snowfall but we got several doses over the last couple of weeks in philadelphia. Now our total 7. 7inches of december snowfall. On average we see about 3. 8inches of snow so weve doubled that so far and we still have a good chunk of december to go but right now we are not adding to that tally. Storm scan3 showing us quiet conditions a couple patchy clouds across the delaware valley. Temperatures they are chill and they are subfreezing in some areas. 29 millville, 24 mount pocono, hovering around freezing in wilmington and dover. 38 degrees in philadelphia, so yeah, we saw quite a bit of melting today and some of that could refreeze during the overnight period, so slick spots on the roadways. Watch out for that throughout the overnight and early tomorrow morning. We have a shot albeit kind of patchy shot at some freezing rain as we head into tomorrow night so well talk about the areas that will most likely see a little bit of freezing rain. As we head into next week the official start of winter next thursday and well be warming temperatures. Developing tonight additional security is on the job for new jersey senator cory booker and his family after they received Death Threats this weekend. According to the mayor of newark, u. S. Capitol police notified Law Enforcement in the city about the threat. Now officers are working with Newark Police to provide security at the booker home. So far no details have been provided about the specifics of the threat. A ski lift accident meantime injured five skiers. It strands dozens of others high above the slopes much these pictures were taken at Tussey Mountain 80 miles northwest of harrisburg. Officials say one chair flipped backwards and into the chair behind it causing effect. Emergency responders used ropes to rescue about 50 people. That took more than an hour. Investigators say an extension cord plugged into a space heater sparked the fire. Authorities searching for the driver of the car that struck and killed a 46yearold man in chester. Investigators say he was struck after getting out of his car for an unknown reason. The striking vehicle is believed to be a black into your model volkswagen. Gone are the days Radnor Township Police officers have to issue handwritten paper citations which leave room for error and take time to process. The reason for your excessive speed today. Reporter officers say they no longer have to get in and out of their car multiple times in high traffic areas, plus drivers can spend less time at a traffic stop. By scanning this in two scans all that information is populated in literally under five seconds. Reporter the department purchased nine of these hand held devices at about 3,000 each. Radnor Officials Say this is the first local Police Department in the state to use them. Deputy superintendent Chris Flanagan says the department started planning for the hand held devices two years ago which instantly scan the bar code on a drivers license and car registration. Reduces the amount of time that officers are on scene. Frees up the public quicker. It also gives a very professional document. Reporter the Company Behind the device, united Public Safety hopes to add another feature shortly. This hopefully soon will be able to once we enter the drivers information will let us know potentially if any warrants exist. Right now checking for warrants is not an instant process nor is it done at every traffic stop. This will allow technology all to come into one point and give us maximum safety and efficiency. But temperature change over the last 24 hours. We are much more mild, even though its still chilly on the order of about 10 to even 20 degrees from this time yesterday evening but despite that temperatures are still near or below that freezing mark. Theres some conce for black ice overnight tonight a did quite a bit of melting today so slick spots on the roads so use extreme caution if youre traveling out and about. Overnight in the city well be dropping down below freezing 29 degrees and with those light winds that will allow ice to form more efficiently for our sunday. Pretty quiet day though if youve got that Christmas Shopping to do. Sunshine to start then increasing clouds, 41 degrees so chilly. Light winds not too much of a wind chill impact for our sunday. You do notice some of this pink breaking out that does indicate the potential for some patchy light freezing rain, pockets of just light rain liquid rainfall possible as well. Again, its not going to be widespread in nature. Not going to be heavy in intensity. But if you have to be on the roads sunday night early monday morning its something you have to consider because it can make for slick spots. That threat will minimize in time for our monday morning commute so good news for there. This threat will mainly come in the overnight period as we head into the day tomorrow. We could see very light accumulations of ice. Even if we just see. 02 of ice or freezing rain that could yield very slick conditions in some areas so keep that in mind.
