With all that wind it is in the good to even have are trash cans laying out there. Let me show what you im talking about here with weather watchers, it is a interesting picture. Take a look at these trash cans that have rolled over. That is the wind. In the only that we have seen leaves kind of all over the place with this wind and i would expect before we get to the thanksgiving holiday there will be some people because of these winds doing a lot of yard work to prepare for guest they will have over. You need to rake up your leaves out there temperature wise we are dealing with an interests situation and that is because we have seen number of kind of dropping throughout the daytoday, and were going to see that continue as we head throughout the morning hour. Look at this list, we have got numbers in the 40s, we have numbers in the 50s as well, lou, eagleville at 47 where he lives. We have john in pennsylvania at 49 degrees, ken net willingboro, new jersey down to 47. We will see these numbers dropping, into the 40s over next several hours and then it will feel like the 40s pretty much, all day long. Let me take you to a live look at Neighborhood Network looking at reading area you can see camera shaking from the winds there. Current temperature of 46 degrees but we are seeing those cloud breaking up, for some sunshine, and unfortunately the sun isnt going to warm us up really all that much as we head in the afternoon but it will be nice to look at. Storm scan three showing this storm system beginning to pull away off to the north,e but we have a couple lingering light showers around near toms river area, also pushing on up into new york and look at how we have dried out in philadelphia pointse and west. We are dry, and we will see that sunshine making a return. Look at this blue color starting to sharply make its way through the map, push east , that is colder air circulating in behind a cold front. We are at 54 degrees in philadelphia 51 wilmington. We have dropped down in the 40 s in reading at 47. Fifty in allentown. Fiftyseven in trenton. We are in the upper 50s in Atlantic City and 55 degrees in wildwood. Those numbers are dropping as well. Wind gusts we have seen gusting up to 40 miles an hour in many locations and including wilmington, wind gusts reporting around 48 miles an hour just recently and reading around 47 miles an hour and then in mid 40s even into our delaware beaches. Heres a lot current wind gust as cross the region. 41 miles an hour right now in philadelphia, 39 in wilmington , 44 miles an hour wind gusts being reported in dover. So this is why we have a wind advisory in place through 4 00 n expect to see gusts up to 50 miles an hour as a possibility, that wind, that will filth inner the chillier air our future temperatures illustrate this very well. Numbers dropping in the 40s early this afternoon, we could see a brief, brief rise to around 50, 51 degrees but will not last very long and only due to the insulation from the sunshine and then back in the 40s later this afternoon. So as i mentioned dress for the 40s today because that is what it will feel like with the combination of the cold air and also the winds out there perhaps heading out later in to it watch eagles game somewhere maybe going to a friends house, bundle up for that because temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s. Rain moves off, sunshine moves in, heading in to this afternoon and as we move into the evening we could get lake effect snow shower making its way in the poconos, we will stay dry here in philadelphia and we will deal with sunshine as we start out the short workweek as well on monday. Heres a look at what you can expect for today, wind which clearing, and falling temperatures, and again, we will see it feeling more like 409s out there with that combination of the winds and also the cooler air, as we head into tonight looking at overnight low temperature of 35 degrees, mostly clear, breezy, and then as we move into your seven day forecast it looks like this. 48 degrees on monday, 58 on tuesday, milder with sunshine morning shower possible and cold front, wednesday morning, and then it is chilly for turkey day right around 48 degrees. Earlier flyers played flames in the matinee orange and black on the three game slide where they scored just two goals. First period flyers with one goal lead, Ivan Provorov shot gets some traffic and pass mike smith, flyers had a three one lead at this point. Second period orange and black up fourthree. Sean manahan scores his third goal, seans first nhl hat trick, second game in overtime flames on the attack and michael frawley, beats brian elliott, flyers drop their fourth straight fivefour the final. We have to figure out how to grind out wins no matter what it takes whether we are up a goal or come back, from behind, whatever it is, we have to figure it out. When your team is in that situation, obviously when you are down, you know, realize you score goals so i think obviously it is a discipline and that is bug thing. Still to come this morning on Eyewitness News, taking your pets on a trip this thanksgiving, or for holidays in general, join Carroll Erickson to share things you should not forget to pack when you travel Eyewitness News time right now for the cbs3 pet project with animal advocate Carroll Erickson and another beauty, lexi gray. I love this dog, jan. This doggies wonderful. Shes one to two years old, she was found tied up, outside of the pennsylvania spca in early october, someone just left her there. She has become a staff favorite. She has easiest, behavior category there, in other word anybody can walk her, spend time with her. I got a handful of treats here , shes very polite, shes a big girl, wonderful dog, lex i gray ready to go in the home and they believe shes how the broken because her kennels clean every morning. If you are looking for a great dog thinks one of them this is time of the year for travel, as you know and people do not want to leave their pets at home. I dont blame them. I dont want to leave my pets. I have separation anxiety from them. So how do you travel with your pet, you found out. Yeah, especially if you are a first time traveler with your pet you cannot forget specific items. We talk to the veterinarian at penn vet for more advice, take a look. Jim me now is doctor Debbie Mansell of penn vet and Kathleen Miller of triple a midatlantic. What do we have to think about when we think about pets and travel. You want to get a hardness to keep your dog safe, in the back seat, you want to make sure that it fits properly, you want to take neck, chest measurements to get the right size. Make sure that two fingers fit all different places underneath the harness so it is not too tight, lose, or they cannot clip out either. This is your dog cole, how did you strap him into your car. People go out and buy a hardness they are all different but one that we have , it will latch right on to the seat belt. So, whether your doggies well behaved in the car it makes no different if you are in a crash. Latching him on seat belt makes sure if we are in the crash he is more secure and more likely stay put. Great advice. If pets get car sick is there any advice for pet parents. First make sure that your pet likes traveling in the car get for short trips. See how they do. If your pet does get car sick and you have to take them talk to the veterinarian. There are medications that can be tried to see if that helps. Then do that. Try that shortest car trip to see how they do. If they dont do well maybe they dont do car trips. Exactly. Such great advice there. If you have a dog that is car sick and vomits in the car and you have to take them someplace, check with your vet , but dont feed them for several hearst before the trip , at lee less to clean up if that is a problem. Some people suggest that you get a travel destination, temporary tags so that where ever you go is there a phone number for their, just in case somebody sees this dog and maybe local phone number that they can possibly have or access because pets will getaway from people, on travel because it is stressful you have dug age, kid, and that sort of thing so you have to keep your pet secure. War case scenario, absolutely. Just check with your vet, short tips because it seems like do you love this dog or what. She knows where to look. She does. Most of the time dogs are just going to the vet so they are stressed when they go on a trip.
