Its got a little band of snow over in over the great lakes and across the canadian border. This is what comes in later today with merely a shower for some of you late this afternoon and early evening as it crosses west to east. The current temperature readings are overachieving. 60 at the airport, 60 in millville its a comfortable start to the day. Now, by the time we hit saturday morning, this is where youll fall on the thermometer. Look at this. This is your actual air temperature expectations. You are lucky if you hit 25 degrees in philadelphia come saturday morning. And thats when the timing will coincide with that freeze watch that the anchors mentioned. That will go into that effect come friday evening. But this cold air is actually catching up to us even sooner than that. So, a little later in our show well talk about exactly when those temperatures plummet as we expect them to do and also when will there be some relief. The took place that question to you a little later on. Guys. Thank you katie. Philadelphia police are looking for a suspect they say stole nearly a dozen laptops from a local school. This is the man caught on camera at boys latin middle school. Eyewitness News Reporter anita oh is live in West Philadelphia with the latest. Anita. Reporter thats right, jim and rahel. This happened on a saturday last month at this school on the 300 block of north 63rd street. As you just saw Surveillance Video did catch a pretty clear image of that suspect. Now, take a look at that Surveillance Video. You can see that man driving up to the school in what appears to be a gray or silver chevy impala and unsuccessfully tries to enter through a front door and goes through a side door. He puts a jacket with a hood on and then enters the school a second time and leaves with more items. Police say in total he got away with 11 laptop computers. Now, police are looking for a black man wearing all black clothing with a black shirt on that said the word boss on it. If you do recognize this man from that video call police. The Pennsylvania State trooper shot during a traffic stop remains in critical but stable condition after a second surgery this morning. Police say 22yearold daniel clary shot Corporal Seth Kelly after fighting with him and another trooper on the side of a Northampton County highway on tuesday morning. Clary who was also shot is facing multiple charges including criminal attempted murder. His bail was set at 1 million. More details in the roy halladay plane crash. The manufacturer of the aircraft set new guidelines this shows the former phillies pitcher flying dangerously low just moments before he was killed. Halladays plane rolled out two years ago with an ability to land on water. This is the third crash this year. The normal former ntsb chairman says it raises red flags. This is extraordinary to have three accidents in six, seven months. And the companys ceo recommends that a lower flying altitude for its customers three weeks before the crash. Officials say the investigation into halladays plane crash could take about a year. New report says a high rate of Transportation Security Administration screeners failed to detect mock weapons coming through airports. Correspondent kris van cleave explains how that officials are taking these findings seriously and how they plan to make changes. We found in briefing disturbing. In that classified briefing, members learned dhs investigators found more than 70 percent of the time undercover officers were able to get through t. S. A. Their boat ran aground this morning and somehow ended up in a large rock formation near a lighthouse. The coast guard says none of the men were hurt. Its still not clear how the boat got so far up on those rocks. Hm. Mother nature. Interesting. I tell you. Tosses you all over the place. No kidding. Uhhuh. Certainly on the thermometer. Doesnt stay that way. We have that front crossing through. More than anything though what youre going to see happen here is just the wind picks up, the temperatures drop. The wet weather, its not that big a deal though. Yet your eye gets immediately drawn to this batch of moisture down across georgia especially this is the issue, this pocket of light wimpy moisture moving in. A lot of times these arctic fronts look less than impressive but man do they bring in very substantially cold air and thats exactly what this front legacy is going to end up being. Midafternoon, three, 4 00 p. M. This is about all youre going to find on the radar. A spotty shower here or there. Everybody is not getting hit by it. If you have plans to be out later this afternoon many of you can get away without the need of an umbrella. You might have to flick the windshield wipers once or twice, ill give that you. Thats pretty much it though. By the time we hit the overnight hours this is clearing out. Thats when the wind picks up. Thats when the temperatures start their plummet and youll see that reflected in the thermometer in a second here but lets just talk about these future wind gusts. They really do pick up. This is later tonight, the gusts are already into the teens. Not too bad. But then you get into the 20s. Then youre even seeing a happened full of 30, 30 plus Miles Per Hour wind gusts pi up. This is 5 00 a. M. Tomorrow crossing my fingers that they relieve me of sky deck duty in the morning because its going to to be really cold out there when you think about these kinds of wind gusts on top of the colder air already. Mid20s later that morning so the wind will gradually ease. Guy 7 00 by 7 00 p. M. Lower 20s and teens saturday morning and its pretty much nonexistent wind flow by the time you hit saturday afternoon. How about these wind chills. The wind is still present into early saturday morning, its also when the temperatures are going to be at their coldest. So, these are the forecasted wind chill values for saturday morning when were really going to have the worst of that cold air settling in. It may not feel any better than 15 degrees along i95. More like even subzero territory if youre taking a little trip up to the poconos for the weekend. Now, it will ease up come sunday but saturday morning will be very, very cold. So, the point that we are in fact forecasting it to be somewhat close anyway to record territory. 25 is our expectation. The record to beat was set back in 1961 at 21 degrees. Now, all that to say we are getting closer to the official beginning of winter and all the other fun events that come along with it, christmas new years and everything else. We have seen our first snowflake in mount pocono, in all brightsville. 42 days away from the winter solstice. Meteorological winter does begin on december 1st or a little closer to that. 46 days left until christmas so shopping days continue. Outside the clouds have begun to fill for us no, signs of wet weather just yet. On the Eyewitness News seven day coldest days come both tomorrow and saturday but theyre interestingly also the brightest days of the pack here. Then we begin a little bit of a modest rebound. Its not as harsh a lot closer to whats typical sunday and especially into early parts of next week. We may end up with a shower here or there come sunday or monday.
