Walking after doctors said jim johnston could never use his legs. When he was two and a half, they said he would bone cancer in his leg and he would be in a wheelchair or body cast. Jim wasnt supposed to live to see past thee years old. Now, hes 55. He was injured at birth and hes always had to do twice as much to accomplish half as much as everybody else. He and his mother walk the halls of glenwood medical mall where jim is known for his open arms. Hes just known as the mall hugger. Thats it. Hug. Doctors, the mall manager Everybody Knows jim. He helped other people overcome their obstacles, too. Before jim, he avoided disable people because he didnt know how to under act with them. After she met jim shes got no problem with disable people no more. His mother continues to bring him around others. Hug after hug after hug making his day as well as theirs. His mom said i always told him that winners never quit and quitters never win. Very true statement indeed. Because of those words jim has been determined his entire live to prove doctors wrong and help others over come their challenges as well and get this. Jims record is 49 hugs in one day. Rose police say he dove a rented truck dunn a bicycle path at a high rate of speed, mowing down people in his way. The president was in a Cabinet Meeting with his top advisers and gave a much more emotional reaction to this attack in his hometown than his responses a few weeks ago to the mass shooting out in las vegas. Today no calls for unity or restraint. Instead the president called the attacker an animal, one he would consider sending to Guantanamo Bay and vowed to get rid of the visa program that allowed him to come here from europe, a country in uzbekistan, one that is not on the president s travel ban. A horrifying terrorist attack in new york city, just blocks away from the site of the world trade center. Man drove a truck enter a pedestrian bike path and murdered eight people and injured very, very seriously at least 11 more. All of america is praying and grieving for the families who lost their precious loved ones, horrible acts. Our hearts break for them and we pledge to renew our resolve in their memory. My administration is coordinating closely between federal and local officials to investigate the attack and to further investigate this animal who did the attacking. And updates will be provided as available. I am today starting the process of terminating the diversity Lottery Program. I am going to ask congress to immediately initiate work to get rid of this program. Diversery and diversity lottery. Diversity will theory. Sounds nice. Its not nice. Its not good. Its not good. It had not been good. Weve been against it. So we want to immediately work with congress on the diversity Lottery Program, on terminating it, getting rid of it. We want a meritbased program where people come in to our country based on merit. An we want to get rid of chain migration. Thats not acceptable. So we want to get rid of chain migration, and weve wanted to do that for a long time. And ive within been wanting to do it for a long time. Well ask congress to work on it immediately. There are bills already about ending chain migration. We have a lot of good bills in there. Were being stop led by democrats because theyre obstructionist, and honestly, they dont want to do whats right for our country. We need strength. We need resolve. We have to stop it. So were going to get rid of this Lottery Program as soon as possible. He came in through the diversity program, as you know, and were going to stop that.
