Like we just heard, general joseph dun ford told reporters that the americans soldiers families deserve answers but he asks for patience as the military investigation continues. It was two hours before backup arrived to help soldiers earlier this month. The pentagon monday offered more details into what the investigation into the incident which left four u. S. Soldiers dead has uncovered. As for the backup, Officials Say troops on the ground didnt call for it until an hour into fighting. It then took an hour before french jets were overhead. When they didnt ask for support for that first hour, my judgment would be that that unit thought they could handle it without any support. Three of the four soldiers died during the fire fight. The fourth, johnsons body was found two days later alone reportedly a mile away. How did u. S. Forces become separated during the engagement and why did it take time to find and recover sergeants johnson. These are all fair questions that the investigation is designed to identify.
