Heres meteorologist Matt Peterson with the eyewitness weather forecast. Good sunday morning. Feeling very much like fall on october 1st where did the time go. I dont know but we have turn the page to fall, extremely quickly. Fall started officially at the 22nd of september. Now we are a week or so after that and we are looking at temperatures that are really reminiscent of what we should be expecting for maybe the middle of the fall season rather then the beginning of the fall season with some 30s out there in a few areas this morning. Outside though down the shore, this is our scene in ocean city, live, looking outside, at a few folks that are out there on the beach, this morning, they are even joying the sand, even though it is a cool start down the shore, temperatures in the mid to upper 40s at the shore points water temperature still in the high 60s to around 70degree. Water temperature is 20 degrees warmer then actual air temperature. If you are going to be down the shore soaking up last minute rays from the weekend, it is not a bad day but dont be expect to go really be outside without a sweat shirt all day long because it will be a cool day for us but overall a practically perfect afternoon is what im going to call it. We had sunshine across the entire area. Seasonal temperatures, if not, maybe seasonally cool, we could call it a degree or two below average. Hugh mid remains low and winds are light. Yesterday afternoon we had strong wind gusts around 20, 25 maybe close to 30 miles an hour at times. That is a thing of the pennsylvania. Very light winds throughout date today. Storm scan three for the most parties dry, clear we had a few light returns off new jersey coastline, at beginning of the she so an hour and a half two hours ago. At this point it is dry, clear across the entirety of the storm scan three viewing area. We are going to see some calmer winds for the most part , we are seeing that in the Lehigh Valley five to 10 mile an hour breeze from philadelphia back down to the shore. Clear skies, calm wind mean cooler temperature and we are at 61 degrees at philadelphia. Fiftyfour by 9 00 this morning. Sunshine warms us up to 69 degrees later this afternoon, jan. I know you like sunshine. We have more in the seven day. I will break it down in a bit. Thanks very much, appreciate it, matt. Breaking news this morning o. J. It is cool but Walking Around going to the buddy walk , yeah, sweat shirt to start out as you work up a sweat here as we get a little bit further in the walk you can take that sweat shirt off but if you are just getting up and take a walk around the city, in the surrounding suburbs or it is cooler and enjoy your coffee outside anything like that definitely wear sweat shirt here this morning. This is a picture of the parkway, you see basilica from the library camera here. Plenty of sunshine early in the day and that sunshine will be around throughout the afternoon. If you are planning on doing any kind of, fall foliage peeking, here early on in the season, it is going to kind of not pick up until about the middle of the month of october so today is objecting first, colors are starting to change, we are getting that processing by the time we get to the middle of october so other week or two that is when areas like poconos start to really look very, very vibrant and then wait until end of the october when folks closer to the Delaware Valley here we cannot travel as far and see those nice vibrant colors but again further north you go you see here even in early october if you wanted to travel up in the finger lakes and upstate insuring war looking at about the average time for peak season of that fall foliage viewing further north you go. Just hold out another week or two and then move just a little bit closer to the poconos for better viewing conditions. Temperatures for us right now as we wake up on this sunday morning, you need a sweat shirt as you step outside, week northerly wind, continue to bring in cooler air, but temperatures have listen in areas of poconos we have gone from 34 up to 39. We were down to 49 in philadelphia we are up to 51. We are looking at low 50s across southern new jersey as well. Millville still clinging to 40 s out toward reading and lancaster both at 44 degrees, here on this sunday morning. Thinks our current set up, higher included, maybe precipitation, out toward midwest, High Pressure though is inside control and centered in the eastern great lakes. Large area of clockwise rotation with up are level High Pressure clearing things out from maine all the way to new england, midatlantic and carolinas and out toward ohio river valley as well. A very, very comfortable set up for us and that pushes all the way into at lee the middle of next week before that High Pressure restarts to break down a little bit we could look for precipitation. Future weather for the most part here today not too much to talk about a few high cloud possible down near the shore, in general, that is really only place we are looking for upper level moisture and any kind of included cover will be clinging to the shoreline if we see any at all, lots of sunshine, as we go toward evening hours, really again looking for a quiet and clear nice and that means it could be another chilly night for us and in the philadelphia area and across the surrounding suburbs. Waking up then on machine morning, an easy drive to work for lots of folks, no real weather issues tomorrow maybe sun glare but that is about it so our forecasted high for today we are staying in the 60 s, maybe get close to 70 in areas of millville but for the most part we are below average and then tonight, this is what we see it in we will see all those 40s, back in the forecast winds, get something 30s, up again toward the poconos. So another cool night in store taking a look at our seven day forecast after 69 today we will get to zero seven tomorrow. Sunshine and 75 by tuesday.
