A fire races through an Apartment Building in king of prussia. This happened at a dozen apartments and forced more than 30 people out of their homes. Eyewitness News Reporter justin finch just spoke to one of those affected residents last night. Hes live for us right now, good morning, justin. Reporter erika and nicole, good morning. The at this is point we still have some flames burning here but they are flames that are tied to a gas line. I will step out of the way so you can see that fire now. You can see them burning in the right front corner of the that building where fire seems to have done quite a bit of damage there to the vinyl siding an inside of that homes. Just a few feet away down there we have crews digging we are told to try to attack that line as shut off that gas line which will stop that fire. Lets go to video from earlier, at its height, these flames here, they were quite strong. Heavy black smoke were seen in this area here at abrams one apartment complex here on the bill smith boulevard. This was a two alarm fire here. This fire broke out at 1 30 this morning. King of prussia fire arrived to the scene, reenforcement from Montgomery County and all across the the county followed suit. Fire fighters and police were banging on doors to evacuate neighbors. Thirty neighbors escaped unharmed we are told. The cause of the fire at this point is unknown, but utilities began to cause problems, for First Responders here. We are told several popping sound were hurt, likely the sound of electrical and gas lines being compromised by this fire. Also, the roof connecting this 60 unit building, served as tinder, spreading fire across the building causing fire, smoke and water damage to all 16 units affect. We did speak to the fire chief here a short time earlier and he did make a great point to talk about that gas line and what a problem it was causing earlier, lets take a listen. I came out and grabbed the fire extinguisher from my kitchen and ran outside, and tried to put it out but by the time i got there it already went up to the vinyl siding and went to the second floor. Reporter that was not the chief that was actually the neighbor who came up here, one of the first to see this fire and try his best to put out that fire himself with the kitchen extinguisher. Meanwhile, a shooter opened fire into a port rich machine bar and bar patrons helped police track down shooter. Philadelphia police say it happen at last shot tavern at allegheny and salmon street just before midnight. Police rush the 41 yearold man to temple hospital where he is in critical condition. Eyewitnesses tell police it all started as a fist fight that spilled outside until one man pulled a gun and started shooting at the victim and tried to run back into the bar. While being shot at, the victim ran back inside of the bar, in order to get away but the shooter continued to fire, and fired at least two shots, through the front glass door of the bar. Philadelphia Police Credit alert bar patrons for helping to track down that shooter. The eyewitnesses followed the gun man and wrote down his license plate number. That allowed police to make an arrest of the man a short time later. A man who once jumped the white house fence was shot and killed at Chester County courthouse. The suspect is identified as 34 yearold curtis smith of coatsville. Now Police Say Smith entered the Justice Center just before noon, ran up to the deputy and began slashing him. Another deputy opened fire. That deputy at last check was in stable condition. Smith later died at paoli hospital. Run through the doors saying im going to get you. Went right past security, i hear pop, pop, something is wrong with him. He fell, but for god sake is it the let him out. In it the United States agreed to drop charges against him if he stayed away from the white house and stayed out of the legal trouble. Authorities found three decomposing bodies inside a garage on haggard street on strawberry mansion. State record identified janet powelldaily as Third Generation owner of the powell funeral home and garage located across the the street.
