Really just pent up across this area, as we watch those storm clusters start to just move east with time. So eventually, shore points are going to get hit here. Meantime, we mention, some stronger storm weve got Severe Thunderstorm Warning posted until 6 30 this morning, specific to kent and new castle county, at least portions of those counties here, for heavy downpours damaging wind in excess potentially 06 Miles Per Hour as well as to up quarter size hail. We have already seen some hail report coming out of these clusters, here is another look for you at the storm scan3 tristate sweep. Sort of the snapshot of where the core of the heavy rain and lightning is currently just pent up here, again, ocean county Monmouth County, and then back along south about i95, into basically eastern maryland, but it is all headed east. So eventually, kent and new castle you will get in on. This if you havent already started to see the raindrops putting things into motion, this is three hour loop. So these bad boys are sipping right along not going to be dealing with heavy downpours for very long, but when they come through they douse you torently, so if you get caught in one of the downpours please maybe think about pulling to the side of the road. Thats how heavily it will be coming down. Yesterday we hit 93 degrees, making it the seventh day of our heatwave. This is the longest stretch of 90 plus degrees days that weve seen since july of 2013. We expect to extends the heatwave by one final day between the hours of 2 00 and 5 00 this afternoon we expect to hit 09 most of the day looking partly sunny but weve obviously got some Stormy Weather issues initially here. I know meisha said the field cameras you have got out there starting to get awfully damp looking . Most definitely, yes. Causing visibility issues specially for some you then in some areas actually starting to slowly look a little bit better. Depending on where you are at across in and around center city, just use your best discretion. Give yourself couple of extra minutes today. We have roadways, a look at the schuylkill expressway, eastbound at the vine, you can see, these travelers moving in the eastbound direction looking actually really good here, and any time i can say that when we have wet roadways busy Tuesday Morning in the 6 00 hour. I stay with caution, i would still give yourself couple of extra minutes this morning and also, the vine street expressway, there was an accident pulled off to the right. Thats now since been cleared. But you can see just busy around this area. The vine st. Typically specially moving toward that 6 00 hour, but as you can see plenty of vehicles out there already. Taillights headlights, but no accident on the vine st. Any more. Ninetyfive southbound at girard, whew, it has been busy one all week long so far it is also going to be a very busy one on 95 southbound, i would circumstances around cottman where it starts to start and then now route one at cottman avenue malfunctioning traffic lights, inner and outer lanes affect in the that area, erika, over to you. Meisha, thank you. New this morning, Police Cruiser and taxi collide at West Philadelphia intersection injuring an officer and two other people. All right, we want the latest on the storms, some folks woken up by thunderstorm over night katie but wont be all day event. Thankfully, no, erika. I think for the most part we are talking about partly sunny day, certainly the here and now what we want to focus on with the storms. Really looking at three hour loop. Look how quickly these are sipping right along. Had basically two separate clusters weve been tracking most notable one right now had Severe Thunderstorm Warning posted with it, that has just been allowed to expire. But we obviously still have some frequent lightning approaching with this, and we want to track some of this for you. So it is primarily southern new castle, as well as northern kent counties, about 6 20, this will be arriving in middletown delaware, smyrna getting in at 6 33 or so, then closer as we head toward vineland toward seven armor shortly thereafter. So youre at minimum still going to be tracking some additional rain, very, again frequent lightning torrential downpours with the rain pockets by the way guys, thankfully the hail threat, hopefully the wind threat diminishing as it rolls eastbound. Meantime we take quick check on the eyewitness Weather Health report. We still have bright, pretty colors for you here, moderate levels of air quality despite the rain moving through. Pollen levels are also still medium to high. So if you are allergies bother you, i was having sneezing fit earlier, im wonder if this is y medium to high levels of pollen uv index also very high since we expect to see more sun than anything with time. Just use extra caution. It is still kind of muggy outside. Thankfully not what i would call oppressive, but still hot, humid and we keep theme going 90 agree plus degrees days for another hate. Tomorrow the heatwave ends. Within 2 degrees of 90, so i still call it hot outside. But at least see the humidity start to wayne. Also going to see that sun return. So tomorrow just looks like nice summer day. Thursday friday, and saturday, those are the coolest of the pack here. Theyre tracking new disturbance. Looks like right now friday could be pretty soggy day with some heavier rain, thunderstorms, that we will be tracking, so end of the week not ideal. But it is cooler. Yes, so looking forward to that for sure. How are the roads looking with the storms moving . Pretty good. Even though wet surfaces out there im actually proud of our morning commute this morning. Well done. Right. Whenever we have wet roadways you never know what to expect. Things looking real nice outside. Give yourself couple every extra minutes any time we have wet slick roadways, which we still do, you want to give yourself couple every extra minutes. First camera i pull your attention to, 95 southbound at cottman, come around the s curve trying to make your way into center city, i can tell you looking really busy just south of this at the exit of girard. Every morning you and i we get in the car together, and we take a little drive and every single morning you tweet me and tell me im slow driver. We are headed northbound, opposite lanes going in the southbound direction, you can see, brake lights going on tells us southbound lanes are driving little slower. But we were just traveling at posted speeds, because im smart, and i wouldnt hop in the southbound lane if i didnt have to. Disable vehicle, 95 southbound approaching woodhaven, pulled off to the shoulder. Not causing any slow downs in this stretch. Just make note of it. One of those things where none right now but we could get gaper delays the more the volume picks up on the stretch. Right now my only advice, it is wet on the roadways, give yourself a few extra minutes. Always good advice, thank you. Driving across Delaware River bridges could soon get little more expensive. The Burlington CountyBridge Commission is thinking about raising tolls on the talcony palmyra and burlington bristol bridges. Tolls or cars with ezpass would increase from two to 3. Check out this video, this is brand new for us. See thunderstorms there putting on lights show in the sky. As it blew through center city, just within the last hour, so i know some people woken up by thunderstorms, but katie, good news, at least youre saying quick moving system right . Absolutely, really just few clusters, so either lucky or unlucky enough to have them or not have them, really what it kind of boiles down tonight frontal boundary sagging south, so thats where this is prompting from. See on storm scan, one cluster, zeroing in on philadelphia. So you might see few more damp roads out over the city and certainly new castle county. Not a wash out though. Not a wash out definitely not. Sort of starting off with the front here, by going out further west here, in our live Neighborhood Network shot, look at the fog settling in here. Just off from the baseball diamond, so, we definitely still got moisture to work with even though berks county, at this point we just showed that you on storm scan, doesnt have any weather to track at this point. But, lets go right back to storm scan. There is two separate clusters i would highlight here. Now one moving off shore ocean Monmouth County the other has continued to roll east through chester, now delco again philadelphia counties, so there will likely still be some additional rain pushing through, even still few lightning strikes still firing up in southern new castle county. Thankfully any Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been allowed to expire but could still end up with drenching downpours within the next half hour as it moves through. It is sipping right along moving about 40, 50 Miles Per Hour. Look at the dew point, what i wasnt to point out notice how so much lower the further inland go, so much higher getting closer towards the shore and the bay area. Soap, what that basically means is that these storms are splitting our region in two. I would still call this a pretty decent beach day. Just give it a little bit of time here guys. We are expecting for to you ends up with quick shower or under this earl storm, this morning, and then, the clouds will start to break for pretty nice afternoon, late day shower thunderstorm, also cant be ruled out. Meantime in philadelphia, it is another hot and muggy day still expect to hit 09 degrees, even despite frontal passage but this is the last day we think of heat and humidity, at least in the 90s, before we start to cool things down, so, it is our final day after heatwave, meisha, so if you havent been a fan that far heat, i know you have. This is at least some good news for you. Wonderful, thanks so much katie. Good morning everyone, it is tuesday. We are trying to push through this work week now and take a look here. This is where we do have an accident, now kind of hard to see, the truck pulled off. This is on the onramp onto 422 eastbound, from oaks, not causing too many delays, but i will let you know that it is there, if do you have to take that exit. Elsewhere the roosevelt boulevard as you head southbound trying to make your way to that junction at the schuylkill expressway, heading in the westbound direction this is what you are looking at, very busy on the roosevelt. Then once you get on to the schuylkill expressway, heading in the westbound direction take a look at. That will it almost looks like parking lot. Very, very busy on the schuylkill. Heading in the westbound direction, just a little bit past that roosevelt boulevard and then eastbound youre slowing down, as well, not moving at posted speeds. We have an accident, Cheltenham Cheltenham avenue at chestnut avenue. One lane is blocked right now but again not causing any slow downs there overall just busy morning give yourself a couple every extra minutes, erika over to you.
