There aretive rent issues that could be more prominent heavy downpours, flash flooding, damaging wind. Those have hypo tension. Frequent lightening is a concern. Hail threat is lower but we cannot rule out a tornado with this as well. If we get sunlight and instability, to get enough spinning up. Never a guarantee when we talk storm threats but at months fear might have have the right ingredients for them. Heading to the shore i think you can get a decent day in, water temperatures are starting to spike here. Off shore buoys are up to 80 degrees. Not terrible. We have low rip current risk here today. Please be careful. If you are at the shore points later today it is toward evening and especially once the sun goes down that the strongest of those thunderstorms are set to move on through. No break for the weary. No kidding. Do i think we will have a midday break but you can see with one of our area cameras in the back there is cloud to start off. It is very steamy outside. Much like yesterday was. Now we have to look a head to this unfortunate liz another round of potentially severe storms it is summer what will you do. This is our time of the year to see it. At least it is on schedule and in the most rare thing to see these kind of storms but obviously it can mess with your outdoor plans. Outside Kutztown Area Middle School a damp, dreary feeling to the camera shot for you here right now. 67 degrees is the temperature there and we will show thaw view of storm scan one more time going full screen where we have got some showers over the western suburbs especially and now moving into philadelphia the heavier rain is where your eye just gets drawn off to the west. That is what will eventually move in later today. What are we talking about here. Bullet point essentially are these, that through, we will give it a window of five to 9 00 p. M. Or so from west to east. Strong to severe thunderstorms are rumbling through bringing with them very heavy downpours, bringing with them possibility of damaging wind, i cannot rule out small hail and i cannot rule out a tornado either. So please stick with us. Of course, anytime we have these kind of Severe Weather scenarios nothing is ever a guarantee because a lot of times we see popcorn effect where it is not necessarily a line of thunderstorms but a scattered variety. You might find a little bit of that today. So bottom line is keep it here, we will keep you posted, for now just a few showers out there nothing of the Severe Weather variety vittoria but enough to flick your windshield wipers. Definitely something to a affect your rush hour to make folks go slower than usual. Also affecting your rush hour, traveling on the southbound side of the roosevelt boulevard we have a disable vehicle blocking the left hand lane and just right across the lanes here the exit for kelly drive. Before i talk about this construction take a look at this map real quickly at the Speed Sensors or at least speed indications. Like traveling on the northbound or southbound side of i95, you are delayed out of the northeast down to the vine. There is that roosevelt boulevard delay. Delay on the schuylkill west wound heading toward your western suburbs. Rush hour is out there keep that in mind. Traveling kelly drive out bound at hunting park avenue the right lane will be block until friday because they are doing construction. No delays for mass transit erika. Thanks, torey. After yesterdays tech melt down United Airlines, it went back in the air. Stock market is back opened. Wall street journalist back on line. Thank goodness. Eyewitness News Reporter jan carabao is live at Philadelphia International airport with more on that, a big mess, um jan. Reporter nicole and erika a big mess yesterday but for most part this morning operations are backup and normal. Departure board behind me saying all flights for the most part are flying out of here on time but this certainly is a different site when the Computer System went down yesterday morning this whole area was pack with people with nothing to do but to wait. Their flights were delayed until that system could get backup and running. Still nationwide its even worse. From los angeles where a long line stretched well past the airport terminal to idaho over to chicagos ohare, and here in Philadelphia International airport. Crowds of United Airlines passengers waited and wondered why they could not get on their flight. I guess the internet server was done so no one could check in. Reporter more than 1100 flights were delayed wednesday by what united called a router problem that income several Computer Systems off line. Passengers could not check in and employees reported flight plans that could not be sent to cockpits and Crew Scheduling Software also stopped working. Something like this cannot happen for airline site of united. Impact size from united, will be in the tens of millions of dollars. Reporter it was first of several computer glitches yesterday. The new York Stock Exchange shut down for hours. Leaders there blamed the Software Upgrade for the problem. The wall street journals web site was also knock off line. We are running in a technically advanced world that does have problems sometimes. Reporter now investigators say 39 outages were not related and were not caused by an attack. Here to explain what happened and what is ahead for today is the the cbs Business News analyst jill schlesinger. Good morning to you jill. Good morning. So what exactly went down there, what do you think. Reporter well, as you reported, it looks like an internal technical issue due to an upgrade of the exchanges systems that occurred the night before but 11 32 eastern time yesterday morning, everything suspended, also, not because of the sign are breach. That was a really big piece that calmed people down. Immediately the Exchange Says all open orders would be canceled. Now, throughout the closure there was absolutely no sense of panic. And heres why. Nyse listed securities, were trading on other exchanges like the nasdaq. Oh, okay. Good to know. Before that whole mess started and before Trading Halted it was a rough day for the stock market, why is that. Reporter yes, because long before the opening bell or that three and a half hour shut down the the selling pressure was on. A combination of the ongoing greek drama and terrible day of trade nothing China Shanghai composite has been in a three week slide and driven the index down by more than 30 percent. I know that sound pretty awful but by the way this morning it was up 6 percent and it was up 150 percent over the past year before it started to fall. So it is really interesting china is in its own world over there, but yesterday the dow jones was down 261 points, one and a half percent nasdaq lost. 88 1. 8 percent. Markets are going to be very volatile right now. Dont be reactive, and hang on for the ride. Good advice, jill, thank you. Right now it is 6 38.
